Heroic progression in Tot? Any suggestions?

Postby adianar » Wed Aug 21, 2013 4:25 pm

With the server transfer, rebuild of the raiding group and gaining some needed momentum, we just finally killed reg Lei Shen last night.

So, with Sept 10th as the drop date for 5.4, where should we go next? Seems like Jin Rok and Ji Kun seem to be unanimously the first 2, but then I see a spread between Horridon and Tortos as 3rd and 4th respectively.

Anyone of you heroic killers confirm? Provide a new list?

Thanks! (No Rune last night, but at least I'm sporting the lfr one...)

You mean Rune?

It depends on what raid size you are. 10m seem to do Jin Rhok, Ji-Kun and Iron Qon pretty quick. Horridon is a bitch in 10m.

Jin'Rokh
Tortos
Ji-Kun
Horridon
Iron Qon
Primordius
Council
Megera
Durumu
Twin Consorts
Dark Animus
Lei Shen
Ra-Den

That's the progression my 10m guild followed.

25m is totally different I think, idk for sure as I haven't raided 25m since early ToT

My guilds a mid-range 25m and we approached HM as follows in order;

Jin Rokh
Horridon
Ji Kun
Tortos
Council
Iron Qon
---------
moving on to;

Megaera
Twins
Primordius
Durumu
Dark Animus
Lei Shen
Ra-Den

We found Tortos and Ji Kun to be significantly easier than Horridon; especially if your raid is above the gearing curve for normals.

10man here. We did Jin'Rokh -> Ji'Kun -> Iron Quon

One of our raiders with a bit more experience reckoned it was worth looking at twins next but we haven't got that far and have stopped raiding until the patch now. Still yet to see a Rune in LFR or normal despite using coins every reset on both!

25 Man kill order my guild is using/followed:

Jihn Rokh
JiKun
Iron Qon
Tortos
Horridon
Council
-----------> All above that line can really be done in any order imo.
Megera (7-8 healers makes this easier if you have the DPS check without issue)
Primordius
Twins
Durumu
-----------> Above this line really depends on your comp/ gear as far as order.
Dark Animus
Lei Shen
Ra-Den

I have to agree with Bethany- Tortos was very easy once everyone stopped failing to the Shield mechanic and our Monk got used to kiting bats vs tanking them. Ji-Khun can seem a bit overwhelming at first about what platform is going when-but other than that and tanking nest guardians the fight remains largely unchanged. Out of the first "6" heroics, I feel that Qon and Council are the least forgiving when it comes to comp.

Thanks for the lists and my apologies, it is 10man. Tortos gave us fits getting through reg, so I'm surprised its so early in the lists, but we're melee heavy and chaos often ensues behind us with kicks and turtles bumping folks in the air. It might just be our configuration.

Appreciate it as always fellow kitties..

My guild has done Jin'Rokh and Ji-Kun so far. We are working on Iron Qon and Horridon next.
