Cat Dummy numbers

Postby Droodey » Fri Oct 15, 2010 8:19 pm

Hi all, this is my 1st time posting in this forum, I'm usually a reader and not a poster but anyway, Id like to see some numbers of what people are getting on the Heroic training dummy. I my self am a BIS cat and I'm pulling 11-12k self buffed. What are the rest of you getting.

Also, I have totally taken FB out of my rotation as its only hitting for 2k max over my shreds and at the moment I don't see the point to loosing rip ticks to a 5 point FB thats 2k more then a shred.

To give an idea of my damage break up it goes as follows

total damage 3.43 million

11233.1 dps

Rip 33% 144 hits 1149479 damage
Shred 22.7% 104 hits 778823 damage
Rake Dot 19.7% 95 hits 675861 damage
Mele 18.3% 407 hits 626334 damage
Fury Swipes 1.3% 41 hits 130034 damage
Rake 1.3% 21 hits 46119 damage
Mangle o.7% 5 hits 23375 damage

was about 5 min of dpsing the dummy

Dropping FB from your rotation is about a 1% DPS loss. (I assume you're still using it in raids during the last 25% for BITW.)

Without seeing your stats, 11-12k's very good. I don't have the stats for a BIS druid atm (and we're still working out what that is, actually) but I think the top druid dummy parse I've seen has been around 13.5k (self-buffed, fooded/flasked.)

Im managing about 11.7k dps over 4 mins (sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more) but this is the typical number.

Im not quite BIS but have a mix of 264/277.

I cant seem to push it any higher.

yeah same here, got a 12.4k once but the average is about 11.5k. Its sad though, I can do the same dps in my moonkin gear for a third of the effort, and my moonkin gear quite rudimentry.

To give you an idea of how gear impacts things I'm doing around 9.2k dps on the dummy (just MotW) but my GS is only 5970 or so. Mostly 251 and 264 gear. All 264 is around a 6100-6200 GS if I recall. And I agree the absolute number one priority is to keep rip up all the time, followed closely by keeping rake up all the time. My DPS might be a little off because I had to drop Cat's Eye (that I used for almost 2 years) and am trying DroodFocus. Not to mention I changed some things on my bars so my fingers are sometimes hitting the wrong number for an attack. :)

I have reforged every piece of gear to mastery, currently at about 604 mastery. I Haven't stepped into ICC yet to test my dps but according to mew im supposed to be pulling 21k dps, I dont see how thats possible at the moment, or maybe im useing it wrong, (i understand this is supposed to be in a raid). I missed ICC this week, but I suppose I will see on Wednesday.

I don't see how that is possible. You may want to recheck what you entered into the fields. Yawning only comes in around 17.5k and he is in full BiS gear.

I am probably doing something wrong but, these are the stats I entered

Strength 110
Haste 1001
Expertise 116
Agility 2516
Hit 199
Mastery 601
AP 7792
relentless and leather both ticked
both T10 ticked

Trinkets DBW 277 and HWT
Enchant berserking

I had all the buffs and debuffs ticked and it gave me 21k dps using the tosk model
Only self buffed its saying 19.9k
Using the experimental simulator it says 19k to.

With only self buffs it puts me at 19k dps. I must be doing something wrong.

However I did get my self into a raid today, my dps was crap because i ended up tanking most of it, only 10k, but my TPS dpsing was 16-17k and constant. and I was spamming cower nonstop trying to not get agro, ended up just going bear and tanking most of it. Has anyone else had TPS issues ? I know we have a decent cower now, but constant 16k tps seems a bit high.

"The model expects unbuffed caster form stats"

Attack power for me (and yawning) is 607. Looks like you were in cat form when you grabbed your stats.

As a side note, since the simulator does not have an option to show the dps in ICC with the 30% buff, predicted dps is over 22k for Yawning and just over 21k for me in ICC (assuming a stationary fight with perfect raid buffs and a perfect rotation). We did a normal LK tonight and I did see my dps north of 20k at the end of phase 1. Saurfang should be interesting next week.

Not to be a smartass but what actually is BIS now? With all the changes BIS gear has changed. Remember how DBW trinket was the thing to get? Now it's down on the list. And to make things really complicated a piece of gear with lots of haste might be way down but if you reforge it to mastery it will come way up.

I'm just not sure any gear selection tool can handle the 40% swwitch to mastery in BIS rankings as of yet. Or can they?

Technically Yawning could swap out his 277 DBW for a 258 Death's Verdict. Mew puts that as a 173 dps up with my sim script. I doubt we would find much difference for any other piece of gear since he has the 284 weapon, and 277 everywhere else with 4 piece tier.
