View topic - When to lose 4 piece?

I have 4-piece tier12 with the head as my off piece. I picked up underdweller's Spaulders (off-tier 397 shoulders) and raid-finder tier 13 chest. What do you think, switch into my new gear and lose 4piece or stick it out till I have at least a 2piece T13?

Depends on the ilvl of your FL gear more than likely, but even then I'd be hardpressed to say yes to breaking your 4p t12 till you can get a 2p of each. If you had a t12 helm, then at least you could use the shoulders as offset then (and offset shoulders looks to be the way to go this tier) but in general I'd say no, it's better to have the t12 4p than not at all, and a minor upgrade from chest/shoulder stats wouldn't beat it I'd think.

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I'm 384 ilevel in my FL gear btw. Yeah hoping for a t12 head drop this week so I can at least put one of these new pieces on.

Even with full 391 gear I immediately went to 2T13 when I grabbed a normal T13 piece and a LFR T13 piece.

would your dps be higher though?

running mew with my gear 395 ilvl, swapping from 4pc t12 to 4pc t13 would yield an increase of 8 dps, but we all know 2pc is just a quality of life thing and for that im thankful.

I havent got 2pc t13 normal yet so im hesitant to swap as mew shows 4pc t12 is more dps than 2pc + higher ilvl

2piece t13 is more than a quality of life buff. Instead of spending 30 energy to apply a bleed you are spending 50 energy to hit for 40+K and apply a bleed. So I would expect some kind of DPS increase, but the more I think about it the less I think I should break my 4piece t12. In DS I am berserking at least twice a fight thats a lot of extra berserk time from the 4piece.

in my current gear its also saying 4pc t12 is stronger without the tigers fury glyph, which i can understand

I would think it would be. Bloodletting, Rip and Berserk is definitely the way to go with the 4piece t12. Probably even without it. Though 2piece tier13 will probably change that. It will be nice to have rip and tf synced up again.

To clarify: my rip time on heroic Morchok was better than expected because of that 2T13 (even while running out for crystals and running out during the ooze phase). Will all bosses benefit from this? Probably not. But it's not like I got rid of the gear so if there is a fight where I just sit there (rarely happens) or where the early rip extensions don't help I may go back to my old setup, but I highly doubt it. Simulations are great, but they don't take into account the ebb and flows of a boss fight all the time.
