Such a thing as too much haste?

Just wondering, as im 2820~ haste, 1320 mastery

I played poorly this week due to internet being awful and a new keyboard, didnt get many ranks but I can see the potential if I played better in our heroic kills this week

trying to push 3k haste with my current gear, at 2984 atm

I would suggest that there's a haste "soft cap" at which point your energy is permanently capped although that's probably not achievable under normal circumstances.

I know that when I had Matrix Restabilizer and Heroic The Hungerer, if they both procced whilst hero was up I couldn't use my energy fast enough if the OOCs were frequent. That's the only time I've experienced this "soft cap". Which I think would total to around 5k haste + hero

You should also consider the actual fight. A fight where you're frequently not in range of your main target will devalue haste and make mastery/crit more desirable making 3k haste on such a fight a potential DPS loss.
