@Stenhaldi
What black magic are you using on your Blade Lord parse? Rip applied at the start of a fight and continued for a few minutes.
Edit: changed it to a spoiler because it's an annoyingly long excerpt from logs.

Re: @Stenhaldi
There has been some weird behavior with Ursol's Vortex since 5.1. Among them, casting rip on a target inside the vortex seems to cause that rip to ignore the usual 3-extension limit.

Re: @Stenhaldi
Damn, how the hell did they break that.
Re: @Stenhaldi
This is on top of Ursol's Vortex counting as a finisher and procing PS when used with combo points (use it before a fb or rip and it basically gives you a second nature's swiftness when using doc).
Ability is pretty broken.

Re: @Stenhaldi
so to understand this properly. If i shred to 5 CP, pop ursols vortex on the boss, then hit rip. I can extend that rip past the normal 3 extension?

Was talking about the UV interaction. They didn't change either one of those spells, and really they should have no interaction. So how the hell did they break something that caused this issue.
EDIT: Also for once its breaking in our favor.

Basically. But you also want to try and make sure you have other modifiers like TF/DoC/pre-pot/trinkets up as well making it a super-mega-rip to end all rips. At least until they fix it. Hopefully no Blizzard hooligans lurk around here and we can abuse it for a while (kind of why I posted here instead of the druid forums, lol).
Devalues the 4T set bonus a bit and I'll probably use some of my higher ilevel offset pieces outside of the 2T bonus (don't have my malevolent gear upgraded).

Re: @Stenhaldi
I sure hope this isn't fixed tomorrow! I would have never even thought to try this...but I'll be testing it out on a dummy, and maybe some LFR tonight!
Re: @Stenhaldi
Do we extend it via FB or just clip normal rip with a rip? Shred's to continue to extend the rip? I"m guessing that's it as prepot wouldn't be in the same sentence with a BitW and shreds do continue to add duration. Slow kitty here..

Heh, well I actually reported the issue when I found it so in principle they should already know. But that was 11 days ago and it's still not fixed.
Re: @Stenhaldi
I wonder how long you can realistically extend your first rip for. A minute? 90 seconds? surely not 2 minutes ...

The bug is that you can Shred endlessly and it won't stop adding new time, meaning every single Shred adds another 2 seconds. Best I got tonight was 34 seconds. Makes it extremely easy to keep one single super-powered Rip rolling on a target for three minutes or better.
Edit: More realistic expectations for Rip uptime.
Edit 2: Rip can be extended past 22 seconds as it turns out.

Re: @Stenhaldi
I'm not sure about you, but I can't come close to getting in a shred every 2 seconds with normal energy regen, so in theory there has to be a limit to the amount we can extend the rip for, even with the UV bug.
Re: @Stenhaldi
4 min 8 sec i ran out of juice while maintaining fff, rake, savage roar, using sotf-doc.
Re: @Stenhaldi
Ran back and did another test, the results of which leave me to think I simply had *really* good luck earlier with Clearcast RNG (every one of which I spend on Shred.) A little over three minutes was all I could do, so my mistake on the inflated number.

This made my day, holy f**** hahahah
I guess there will be a lot of WoL report cleaning to maintain ranks

Of course there is. Like other's have said, depends on your haste (bloodlust etc) and how many OOC procs you can get mainly. On a dummy I'm able to get something like 100 seconds or so with a berserk opener.
Re: @Stenhaldi
Tomorrows raid is going to be rather interesting on single target fights for some giggles. I'd expect this to be caught pretty quickly though.

It's not actually as gamebreaking as you might think it is, there's probably room for optimization but I simmed Rip without a cap (and thrashless, because shred becomes better in every case) and it was only about a 2.5% DPS gain, nothing special.

You sure you are keeping the TF'd, DoC'd, and Pot'd Rip going. Under less then ideal situations tonight I am seeing Rip go from 21% of my damage to 36%. I have been able to hold it for 3 minutes 1 time. Average is about 2 (no BL).
