If you are the pilot and want to use your buffed dps as long as possible u can hit alyzrazor even in the tornado-phase. If she's just flying over you, you still can hit her with 1-2 Styles, so if you are lucky you are able to keep Rip'n'Rake active.

@ QBear, It's 10 man. I'm not sure about the rings in the air, but I know the rings on the ground during the Tornado phase disappear as soon as someone gets their buff, so unless you are already right there, you aren't going to catch it in time.

Is it just me or something else?!

We started this fight two raid knights ago, the first night I was just dpsing at the druids in phase 1, no interrupts. Yesterday, our normal interrupters were not available, so I head to.
Together with a Ret Pally we killed and kicked first add, started second one...and the add was not even halfway down, when the third one arrived.

Just to say: 25 man, normal, with a group left and a group right.

What in hell am I doing wrong? I was told to interrupt, what I did...but the dmg was getting too low because of having allways to less energy.

Please help a confused cat:P

Feral on interupts = less DPS plain and simple. Your raid will need to step up there DPS to compensate.

Issue that another poster had. In our 10 man group I was assigned to tank the hatchlings, while our pally tank had the other. In a normal fight in my tank gear and spec I out dps him by 1-2k. This fight though he consistently hit 80k+ while I was lucky to break 75k. Because of this I just couldn't seem to get my add down, and even with him out doing me by a decent amount he'd normally have to finish off the last .5ish% during the tornado phase. Is this an issue with tens in general, or possibly something we're doing wrong? Because I know for a fact that they're imprinted on us, and sadly this is the only issue we're having.

Hey Jabarlek. Do you have any logs we can look at? Are you using berserk on the add and enraging every minute?

Sadly not on this fight because I wasn't even supposed to be raiding that night but we were short a tank. But yes, berserk popped at the same time as enrage and my synapse springs(which I've learned is EPIC as a bear lol), and the later two every CD. that's why I'm downright dumbfounded as to what the problem is.

I am not aware of any issues with bears killing the hatchlings in 10 man, but I have only done 25 man.

If you could setup Wol for the next time you do this we could have a look and see if something stands out. It's very easy to setup an account even if its just for you.

Yeah, I've got an account and I normally run logs, just didn't this time because it was a spur of the moment raid. Wasnt even thinking about setting them up. But I will be for sure next time around hopefully later this week.

After looking at logs for various DPS classes on this fight, I wanted to ask: are other ferals who play Starfox on this fight are noticing that haste from Blazing Power stacks isn't affecting Rake and Rip? Looking at my WoL here: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-8 ... 867&e=6378. I set the filter to this:
Code: Select all
Show events where event type is one of Hit, Aura and source or target is Racionen and spell is one of Rip, Blazing Power, Alysra's Razor

Here's the results from the first flight phase:

Notice the Rip ticks are 2 seconds apart the entire fight, but the crit buff applies as soon as I gain Alysra's Razor. When I compare that to Shadow priests, their SW:P and MF are ticking much faster once they stack up Blazing Power. Any ideas? Is this intended?

I guess I'll suggest we send others flying then. No point in restricting DPS in the air when there's a number of classes that are capable of much bigger numbers than we are. That fight just went from first to worst in my book (at least as far as knee-jerk reactions go...).

I get sent into the air for our 10 man raid and I can pull rediculous numbers. We are one of the best to send because most of the time we are Resource Capped, waiting on Energy and Combo Points, where as the GCD Capped classes don't. I hit 42.6k on Alysrazor for Overall DPS for the Fight, which would put me at 4th in the World for strictly kitty air dps, no Imprinting (Too bad my guild doesn't parse for the Main Group).

Just because Haste doesn't affect our bleeds doesn't mean anything, is still affects our 1.0 melee swing timer and our Energy Regen. 150% Haste and 125% Crit is nothing to turn your nose at, its pretty much a Berserk as in that you are continually attacking and if you are Hit/Exp capped, you are only getting Crits, No Misses, Dodges, or anything.

Also keep in mind that we are rubbish down below with all the adds, since you will be Interrupting and the adds, from what I hear, like to twist and turn a lot. We should be the last class asked to interrupt, Extremely High Cost, Charge Mechanic includes Travel Time (Can Often Miss), etc.

42.6k DPS isn't much for a flier -- shadow priests (due to their extremely strong haste scaling) are pulling 60-70k DPS and fire mages (with strong haste and crit scaling) even more.

Also, feral druids are more than fine for ground duty in this fight. The positioning and interrupt liabilities are minor while the spec has substantial advantages in mobility and burst damage.

Good thing about that though: There are pretty much only those 3 specs that outdps us in the air: FMage, SPriest, and Boomkin. All the others are around the ~40-45k DPS mark. We don't have a SPriest or a Boomkin, and our Mage is terribad, so.

It is a gearing issue. At 372+ gear it is not a problem. In 367 gear I was lagging behind until I switched to my cat hit/exp gear. I think they overcompensated when they "fixed" bear dps scaling. We also had to get our DK tank to swap out some gear and switch some talents to more dps/less survivability to get his add down in time (he dropped his interrupt among other things). Pallies are having the easiest time followed by warriors. Yet another fight that violates the "bring the player not the spec" principle.

Don't forget warlocks. Affliction looks pretty sick in the air, and destro isn't exactly GCD capped, either. I'm doing this on 25, so we have lots of choices. Even our rogue blows me away (55-60k), and from the first night when I did do the ground, it isn't difficult for a feral.

Hey i dident see anyone else saying this.

if ur tanks are having problem killing his add in time try use thorns as often as you can they are affected by the 1000% dmg increase buff the tank have

if ur tanking you can also use thorns on urself right when the add is eating the worms its tight to get back in bear but its doable.

+rep for this Snowiedemon

It works - We had our Resto/Boomies with the thorns glyph spamming it on the tanks - I think it was 3rd/4th highest dmging attack in the fight!

They tried to get me to do this... ofcourse I did ;) ... crazy people who dont play feral with T11 4set :D

The adds died about 10/20 seconds before the tornados started.

Yea guild was makin some jokes about thorns leading up to this. When on our first attempt our dk did 3 mil dmg from thorns in 2 add phases, jokes stopped and our resto/boomy started complaining that "a more powerful spell" was always up cause the other feral flyover thorns and started hitting it on the pally tank on CD too.

Yeah big plus rep to you, we had killed this on heroic but it was god awful, I mentioned the thorns thing before we pulled it this week and the hatchlings were dying well before the the LOS phase.

Keep those great tips coming guys.

Apparently I'm the only one who has a clue about how to fly...mage we sent up last night for a few tries before calling it (having downed the usual 4 beforehand) sucked lol. Think I'll recommend the Spriest goes up...I'm stuck on bitch duty (aka interrupts, though I did the fair thing and pointed out I would sadly be better on the ground because of my interrupt), but it's kinda pissing me off honestly since I can't even get every other cast; seems like no matter what they'll always get off 2 casts of fiero-whatever blah crap and I can't do anything about it...

You're talking 10man I assume. When we did it on 10, we had me and a ret interrupting on 1 side and an enh shaman on the other. Maybe you could try having a holy pally or resto shaman help with interrupts? Should be simple enough for them to make a focus interrupt macro, and it's a slow cast as long as they don't get any casts off.

Yeah 10man, keep forgetting people still do 25s. I believe we had a hunter with me interrupting (though since he gets distracted and doesn't notice the new ones coming, eh) and a dk on the other side. Our resto is...well, bad when it comes to mana (he always seems to oom quickly, is that a problem for all of them?) so he can't really do much. but eh, guess I'll see who we have with interrupts and make suggestions from there, but it's still ridiculous that they have not only a short cast time, but short period before they can cast it again :(
