Set Bonuses

Am I missing something or are our set bonuses pretty terrible? Has anyone worked out the dps gain?

I was just chatting with a frost dk friend of mine and his 2set appears to buff 50% of his damage by 10%...an overall 5% dps increase. Ours appears to buff 20% of our damage by 5%...a 1% dps gain? Am I right?

Did they get their numbers mixed up when picking the 2set %s!!?

The 2 set bonus is boring and not exactly amazing. However the 4p is REALLY good. 2 extra ticks on Rip (4 seconds) is not only free damage, but it gives us some more breathing room in our very tight rotation. For me I am seeing SR and Rip sync up WAY to often and it is really annoying.

The 4 set is far more a Quality of Life thing than it it is a DPS one. On paper the gain isn't anything to brag about. The last time I simmed their value they were worth 0.819% DPS and 1.898% DPS for the 2 and 4-piece bonuses respectively.

Honestly, while I understand that they tend to make the first tier bonuses intentionally rather plain, I think it would've done something for the 2-piece bonus if they had made it "Your Shred and Mangle (Cat) abilities have 5% additional chance to critical strike." instead of a plain damage bonus.

Just gonna put my old T13 on then and roll a huge buffed rip for 60% of the fight

The 4 piece set seems to be more of a boon for me than I thought. It helps line everything up a little better with a 26 second Rip so you can have a TF/DoC buffed rip up almost all of the time. I'm incredibly happy with it after the first night using it.
